【摘要】:1.1Theserequirementsapplyto:a)Central-stationsprovidingwatchman,fire-alarm,andsupervisoryservicesasdescribedintheNationalFireAlarmCode,NFPA72;b)Central-stationburglar-alarmsystemsintendedandspecificallydesignatedforburglaryprotectionuseatmercantileandbankingpremises,onmercantilesafesandvaults,andonbanksafesandvaults;andc)Residentialmonitoringstationsmonitoringresidentialalarmsystems.1.2Theserequirementsapplytocentral-stations,subsidiarystationsandresidentialmonitoringstationsthatareintendedtobelocatedinbuildingsconstructedinaccordancewithbuildingcodes,suchastheBuildingOfficialsandCodeAdministrators(BOCA)NationalBuildingCode,theStandardBuildingCode,andtheUniformBuildingCode.1.3Thecentral-stationburglar-andfire-alarmstationandresidentialalarmsystemscoveredbytheserequirementsaresystemsinwhichtheoperationofelectricalprotectioncircuitsanddevicesaresignaledautomaticallyto,recordedin,maintainedin,andsupervisedfromacentral-stationorresidentialmonitoringstationhavingtrainedoperatorsandrunnersondutyatalltimes.1.4Requirementscoveringtheconstructionandoperationofburglar-alarmunitsusedintheburglar-alarmsystemscoveredbythisstandardarecontainedintheStandardforCentral-StationBurglar-AlarmUnits,UL1610,andtheStandardforDigitalAlarmCommunicatorSystemUnits,UL1635.1.5Burglar-alarmprotectivedevicesinstalledonindividualpropertiesareclassifiedastotheextentofprotectionateachlocation.Requirementscoveringinstallationandclassification(ofextent)ofalarmprotectiveequipmentatindividuallocationsarecontainedintheStandardforInstallationandClassificationofBurglarandHoldupAlarmSystems,UL681.1.6Requirementscoveringtheconstructionandoperationoffire-protectivesignalingequipmentusedinthesystemscoveredbythisstandardarecontainedintheStandardforControlUnitsandAccessoriesforFireAlarmSystems,UL864.1.7SystemscoveredbytheserequirementsoperatewithinthelimitsoftheNationalElectricalCode,ANSI/NFPA70,asappliedbythelocalauthorityhavingjurisdiction.TheArticlesoftheNationalElectricalCodethatapplyare:a)Article725,withinthelimitsofClass2orClass3remote-controlandsignalingcircuitsforburglar-alarmsystems;b)Article760forfire-alarmsystems;c)Article800foroutsidewiringandprotectors;andd)Article820forprotectorsforradioantennas.1.8Requirementsforsoftwareandhardware,andtheinstallationandoperationofanautomationsysteminacentral-station,subsidiarystationorresidentialmonitoringstationarecoveredbytheStandardforCentral-StationAutomationSystems,UL1981,orbytheStandardforControlUnitsandAccessoriesforFireAlarmSystems,UL864,and/ortheStandardforCentral-StationBurglar-AlarmUnits,UL1610.1.9Areferencemadeto2station2referstoacentral-station(burglaryorfire),subsidiarystationorresidentialmonitoringstation,dependinguponthecontextinwhichitisused.1.10Theserequirementsdonotcoverthecommunicationchannelbetweentheprotectedpropertyandthestation.Thisincludes:a)Thecompanythatprovidesthecommunicationchannelandb)Theequipmentthatisusedtoprovidethecommunicationchannel.ExceptionNo.1:Ifthecommunicationchannelisownedandoperatedbythestation,theserequirementsdoapply.ExceptionNo.2:Theserequirementsdoapplytoanalarmandsignaltransportservicecompany.
