【摘要】:1.1Theserequirementsapplytoequipment,circuits,orcomponentsintendedforuseinClassI,GroupsA,B,C,andD,Division2,hazardous(classified)locations;ClassII,GroupsFandG,Division2,hazardous(classified)locations;andClassIII,Divisions1and2,hazardous(classified)locationsasdefinedinArticle500oftheNationalElectricalCode,NFPA70.1.2TheequipmentshallbecapableofbeinginstalledinaccordancewiththerequirementsintheNationalElectricalCode,NFPA70.Battery-poweredportableequipmentneednotcomplywiththisrequirement1.3TherequirementscoverClassI,Division2electricalequipment,orpartsofsuchequipment,inwhichthecircuitsandcomponentsunderintendedoperatingconditionsareincapableofcausingignitionofthespecifiedflammablegas-orvapor-airmixture.1.4TheserequirementscoverClassII,Division2,andClassIII,Division1andDivision2equipmentthatisconstructedtoreduceorexcludetheentranceofdust.1.5Theserequirementsapplyonlytoequipmentforuseunderthefollowingatmosphericconditions.a)Anambienttemperatureof5to40℃(41to104℉),b)Anoxygenconcentrationnotgreaterthan21percent,andc)Anominalbarometricpressureofoneatmosphere.1.6Theserequirementscoverportablebattery-poweredequipment,otherthanflashlightsandlanterns,forClassIandClassII,Division2,andClassIII,Divisions1and2hazardous(classified)locations.1.6.1Theserequirementsalsocoverequipment,circuits,orcomponentsintendedforinstallationanduseinClassI,Zone2,GroupsIIA,IIB,andIIChazardous(classified)locations.1.7TheserequirementsdonotcoverelectriclightingfixturesforuseinDivision2hazardous(classified)locationswhicharecoveredintheStandardforElectricLightingFixturesforUseinHazardous(Classified)Locations,UL844.1.8Theserequirementsdonotcoverelectricmotors,electricheaters,heattracingcablesandsimilarheat-producingdevices,orequipmentwithcathoderaytubes,foruseinDivision2locations.Suchproductsarecoveredunderseparaterequirements.1.9Theserequirementsdonotcoverexplosion-proof,dust-ignition-proof,orintrinsically-safemethodsofprotectionforelectricalequipmentorpartsthereof.SuchmethodsofprotectionareconsideredacceptableforDivision2hazardouslocations.Therequirementsarecoveredinotherstandards.1.10Aproductthatcontainsfeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsnewordifferentfromthosecoveredbytherequirementsinthisstandard,andthatinvolvesariskoffireorofelectricshockorinjurytopersonsshallbeevaluatedusingappropriateadditionalcomponentandend-productrequirementstomaintainthelevelofsafetyasoriginallyanticipatedbytheintentofthisstandard.Aproductwhosefeatures,characteristics,components,materials,orsystemsconflictwithspecificrequirementsorprovisionsofthisstandarddoesnotcomplywiththisstandard.Revisionofrequirementsshallbeproposedandadoptedinconformancewiththemethodsemployedfordevelopment,revision,andimplementationofthisstandard.
